Monday again? Arg. Where do the weekends go? The way of the dinosaur, alas.
Or should I say, YARRRRR!? It’s Rousseau’s birthday today, which always coincides with TLaP Day. Avast, me hearties.
It’s also the week of the County Fair. There is some unhealthy food in my future, as well as walking around with the Js, looking at animules and maybe taking a ride on the merry-go-round.
Rousseau. He’s 12. That makes him a senior citizen, like the Thriller. And RD.
This week, I’m going to test-drive the new Fanci-Fill cake pan I got for my birthday, since I’m responsible for providing the cakey goodness for Bob’s birthday feast, coming up on the 2nd. Hmmm, ideas. I found one that has yellow cake with chocolate ice cream filling and chocolate icing. That one might be the ticket. Or maybe chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream filling and cream cheese icing. Or perhaps: both. The possibilities, the possibilities…
Happy Monkday, fiends. Get bizzy!
Happy Birthday, Rousseau….I miss you!
We need to get you back into your Rousseau visits, Mave!
TLaP day?? Lordy, I forgot all about that one!!! Woody Birthday to Rousseau!! He’ about 5 months older than Duke!
…and my vote is chocolate cake (always) with mint chocolate chip ice cream!!
PS…OK, I’ve looked at the pic of that cake pan/set & how the HECK do you use it to get the cake with the hole in the middle so you can fill with ice cream, etc?
LOL
You turn out the cakes open-side down, so the channels appear on the top. After filling each channel, you take one piece and turn it over on top of the other piece, so the filled sides touch. Those little circle bumps in the center of each pan help to keep distance between the layers, so the filling can take up the space, and the layers rest evenly on top of each other.
Then frost & go!
Happy Birthday, Rousseau!
You could combine the birthday celebration cake by making it chocolate on the outside with dog cookies on the inside!
No?
How about carrot cake with cream cheese icing and filling?
I had a girlfriend I worked with who loved carrot cake. So when her birthday rolled around I volunteered to order the cake for her office party. The clerk at the bakery seemed a little confused with I asked for a carrot cake, but I didn’t think much of it until I went to pick up the order. They had made me a yellow cake in the shape of a carrot. Orange icing and all.
Go figure.
PK
HAA
Made me think of THIS. LOL
And Mr. Rousseau had an extra biscuit last night. That’s all he gets with his slow metabolism!
Chevy and I wished Rousseau a Happy Birthday at Facebook but will do it here, too! Chevy says that being a Senior Animal is gggrrr-eat!!! He was always spoiled but now….it’s unreal! hahaha
I think you should make the pink strawberry cake that’s in the picture at the website…yummy!!!!! But anything chocolate sounds good, too…….
I LOVE the pink strawberry cake! Lars would love it, too. Maybe I should do one chocolaty thing, and one fruity thing. (Bob doesn’t care for fruit filling.)
And I agree about the senior animals. What I like best is his docile personality — no jumping, running-around craziness anymore. Dog just be chillin’. Love it!
“CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT”
Uhmm….the mind boggles at the farmer/redneck/younameit jokes…..
Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? ROFL
It’s listed on the Ashland County Fair website…..you gonna go? hehehehe
Happy birthday to Rousseau. Is he signed up for Medicare? And, make sure he has supplemental insurace too.
No he isn’t, but you won’t be surprised to know there are lots of pet insurance policies out there!
OR chocolate cake with chocolate filling AND chocolate icing ! No fruit, natch!
Triple chocolate death. That would get my vote!
