At long last, finally, it’s about time, where have you been, I’ve waited ten years, I thought you’d never get here.
Finkday.
Wow. The longest five days in the history of the world. Why do some weeks fly, and others drag? What is it about our temporal senses that changes with activity? Why do we complain when time flies, and complain when it drags? Answer me my questions three.
So, what’s up for your weekend? Did you know that Thursday is Thanksgiving already? Where did the last month go? Just when you want stuff to hurry up and get here, it’s here and gone. Is this the way the rest of my life is going to play out? I’m afraid so. Today, I say we focus on sniffing those roses.
Armchair wisdom from the Fink at 5:30 a.m. You’d think I was all peppy & stuff because I will see my grandsons this weekend. Oh wait…
When my eldest was born, I embroidered a wall sampler:
“Cleaning and scrubbing can wait ’till tomorrow,
For babies grow up, we’ve learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs! Dust, go to sleep!
I’m rocking my baby, and babies don’t keep!”
The other day I mentioned to one of my students’ parents that I couldn’t believe it was Thanksgiving already. I’m still somewhere around July 4. She responded that she is still working on March.
Eeesh…
But the good news is my baby girls are both coming here for Christmas – and going to stay for a good 10 days. So while Thanksgiving will be quiet with the usual Spaghetti Pie for hubby and me, we’re looking forward to Dec 19!!
Enjoy those little guys while you can, and enjoy your holiday!!

More of a turkey than anyone knows….
How wonderful that you’ll see your girls for Christmas, and for TEN days! Wahoo! And I love, love, love the poem.
I know the boys will be little for only so long — just like it was with our kids, yes? Enjoy, doll!
I totally agree, Bird. This seems to be the longest week ever! Being with the J’s this weekend will be the catalyst you need to jump right into the holiday spirit! Little ones always make me feel festive. We’re going to have such fun on Thanksgiving and Christmas!
I wish my other two could be with us this year. My heart and soul needs to see their handsome faces. *sigh* HAHAHA! I started out to lift you up and ended up bringing myself down! Anyway, we will dance and sing for our feast this week! So looking forward to it, honey.
We have got to get those other two here at some point! I wish the timing worked; it seems to never hit at the right time for them. We shall KEEP TRYING!
