And I shake my fist at YOU,

  1. whoever stole my debit card information to buy video games in California, and
  2. Chase Fraud (a hilarious moniker, yes?), for making me sit on hold for 22 minutes at 5:20 a.m. EST (when EVERYONE calls to report fraud, apparently) only to tell me that you’re all so incredibly busy hearing about the sieve that is your security system, no one can talk to me after all, and that you will call me later on this morning,

A) WHILE I AM AT SCHOOL AND UNABLE TO TALK TO YOU, AND B) WHILE THE THIEF CONTINUES TO USE MY MONEY.

Dear God: Please help me to not kill people today (over the phone, that is). Amen.

J’ever have one of those mornings?

    Whaaaaat? Again???

They are too busy at 05:20 in the morning?? Nasty way to start the day. I am headed out to the garden and will violently pull out dead plants and pretend they are the person who is doing this to you. :)

Thank you, Suzi. And while you’re pulling them out, please set them on fire.

Yep, this happened a couple of years ago, too. Truthfully, I’m being a little hard on Chase — they do text right away if something’s red-flagged. Like, I bought something at Williams-Sonoma a few days ago, and they flagged it. But no text about video games? Oy…

      Have fun gardening today!

I didn’t set anything on fire and the brandnettle “bit” me but I pulled them out with a fury!!

Any word?? Did they get the card blocked or stopped for you?

Oh, lordy. Sorry to hear that, luv! It’s like THEEEEEE most helpless feeling :-(

Count yourself lucky that it was a toll-free call that you were sitting on & that you were in the US. It cost me over $175 in direct-dial international mobile phone calls to get mine resolved when we were in Greece & Turkey last August :-(

Oh dear. The “techno-age” is a good thing, but it’s also a bad thing. So sorry to hear this happened again, sweetness. I cast a “Mavis-spell” upon them – May the thieves find camel dung in their Cheerios!!! :-(

This is horrible – both that it happened in the first place, and then that you were kept on hold for so long, and so early and without receiving any satisfaction. I hope that it’s resolved by now. I had this happen with a credit card several years ago. My account # was stolen and someone bought over $700.00 worth of jewlery in Mexico. I certainly wasn’t in Mexico at that time. My company was excellent. They closed that account and they removed those charges and issued me a new account # and a new card.

Hey, I want $700 worth of Mexican jewelry! (But it wasn’t me, I swear)

Fortunately, Chase acted pretty quickly when I successfully got through to a human on my way to school yesterday morning. The $53 and change was credited back to my account within a couple of hours, and they’re sending me a new card. Such a hassle though!!
