The Thriller and I were discussing how our fears sometimes limit us in life. (We are taking a trip to France in the near future, despite our discomfort with flying; more on that later!) But sometimes, one has to draw a line between facing a fear and just, well, not on your life. Behold today’s litany of NO:
Ah, my old daredevil days. I don’t miss them. Wait…I would have never attempted these places even when I *was* young and foolish (maybe, just maybe the first one, but definitely not the others). I’ll just remain old and foolish, thanks. It was enough for me to stand a good 30 feet away from the edge of the Grand Canyon a few years back. That’ll last me the rest of my life.
OK, now that I’m woozy, it’s time to get started on the day. We’re heading into the last full week of school. Saints be praised. Happy weekend, fiends.
Funny…and I would do any of the above except for #1.
With wisdom comes age!
Hey, weren’t you guys on some mini-vacation lately? Where was that?
We still are on a mini … In Kansas at the moment.
Not. On. Your. Life. *just breathe*…..
Haha — I knew you’d hate it all! Remember when we used to ride every shoddy carnival ride ever? Remember getting in line at the Zipper over and over and over? That thing was probably held together by baling twine, but we rode it till the minute we had to go home. Crazy!!!
I sure do remember all those rides! You and I had absolutely no fear back then! It’s amazing how things can change, eh? I still love to *watch* them, though.
No. Nope. Nee doe ik niet. No way. Even in my young and foolish days I wasn’t THAT foolish.
I hear ya! But it’s amazing how I wouldn’t consider ever doing those things over which I have LOTS of control (I mean, you don’t have to stand near the edge of the cliff if you don’t want to), but I’m planning to sit on top of 60,000 gallons of exploding jet fuel 30,000 feet in the air in order to fly to France — a situation over which I have ZERO control.
Splain that craziness to me! *shiverin’ in me boots*
Sweetness I don’t know how to help you with that. What about some kind of conditioning class at an airport??
But I think you will be brave and will be so glad when you land in FRANCE! We are going to go to the best boulangerie and get a chocolate croissant!
