A different kind of Vegas trip

OK fiends, I am stoked for my final adventure of the summer: Las Vegas. Wooop!

But this trip will be quite different from the three times I’ve been before. When the Thriller and I went, we spent 10 percent of our time enjoying restaurants, 20 percent sleeping, and the other 70 in the casinos. It was fun (and sometimes profitable :-) ), but exhausting, and I knew I was missing parts of the city that I wanted to see. So, I’m fixing that this time.

In addition to hitting a couple of the Station casinos, I have tickets to see the Organized Crime Museum, and the Neon Boneyard, where all the old Vegas signage is kept (and some of it still lights up!). I also plan to hit Fremont Street while I’m downtown. Should be fun.

The highlight of the trip, of course, will be the Beatles Love show by Cirque du Soleil. By the time I bought my ticket, seating was pretty limited, so I’m waaaaay up in the stratosphere. S’ok though; the theater is not that big, and I’ll still enjoy it.

I bought a 3-day pass for the Vegas Monorail, which has a boarding station right outside the door of my hotel (the SLS). While the Strip is only four miles long, it takes forever to travel it in a taxi because of the Manhattan-like traffic jams, so I’m saving some bigtime cash by doing the monorail, which travels behind all the hotels from the SLS to the MGM.

Still mulling over whether or not to pull the trigger on the Janet Jackson concert Friday night. Hmmm.

Pretty full three days, don’t you think? Psyched for next Wednesday night, when my super-cheap Spirit Airlines flight leaves Cleveland. I’ll post some photos.

Viva!

Pull the trigger. There’s nothing like a Vegas show! Enjoy Cirque du Soleil’s Love! I saw “O” there years ago… beyond fabulous!

I will do that, Mave! And I’ll check the available seats (and finances) before going out there.

Hmmm I just read a review of JJ somewhere and it wasn’t good.
Aerosmith is doing a residency at one of the venues. Just sayin’.

The Neon Boneyard will be so cool, I’ve always wanted to see that.

YAY so fun! Viva Las Vegas!

I dunno — any type of decent location is $200 and up. Do I *really* want to see her that much? Hmmmm…………
