Bienvenue l’été

Although I don’t really know where the spring went. It’s like we bypassed it altogether. This was the coldest April I can remember; my daffodils bloomed one Sunday, and they were frozen dead the next morning. Nice.

But there are signs of summer in my yard…

More tulips on an early Sunday morning

Dass some huge yummy rhubarb.

Sure. Walk in the garden.

I guess I’m ready for summer to get here. Much to do over the next four months. Much to do.

Mmmmmm, rhubarb…. Quite possibly the most sour (yet sweet) veggie ever. Do you think you could spare some for jam? Maybe some crunch pie?

Crunchy rhubarb pie…my sister Mavis’s specialty! I’d say “sure,” but I doubt the pie would make it out of her house…

What **IS** it with dogs who feel the need to nose through gardens like that??!! Annie & Duke are forever stepping foot in the garden around the pool looking for lordy-only-knows-what!

On a completely unrelated subject, are you using WordPress for your blog? I have to start blogging now for work (that’s how we deliver informal updates/info to all our call centers world-wide). I just logged into our system & when I saw WordPress, that rang a bell…

Yes, Boomy – WordPress is what I use. I adore it. I’ve been able (as you can see) to customize all the CSS, and the comment spam protection is really good. It’s super-intuitive (with a couple of minor exceptions), and totally easy to use. You’d love it because even though you’re geeky, you wouldn’t have to waste any time coding at all, unless you wanted to.

Oh and there are tons of themes to choose from, too, from the ridiculous to the sublime. Let me know what you decide!

Well, Greggy — could I interest you in some lovely cantaloupe? Or how about some figs? Raisins? Pineapple? Or maybe this delicious grapefruit I have here…

      :P
