And they’re off. This tour has gone so smoothly…something has to go wrong today.
I hope my students and the chaperones have had a ball; I know I have. Trying to have fun while on tour is a challenge for me, but my chaperones make it much easier to entertain the possibility. Great folks, they.
Saw Phantom on Broadway last night. While the Christine and Raoul characters were not necessarily to my liking (not happy when you can’t really tell a diff between the Christine and Carlotta voices), the phantom was once again very strong. Likey likey.
Today’s menu: Staten Island Ferry, shopping in Times Square, IMAX movie, Chinatown/Little Italy, Top of the Rock, then back home. Big day, big night, good tour.
Yay, it’s Finkday. But every day’s a holiday in old New York….

Did you see a blue Empire State Building last night? I read somewhere that they were going to have blue lights on it to commemorate something…..
Yes I did see that, Suz — it was blue in honor of Autism month. On Good Friday, they had it lit up in green, pink and yellow — Easter egg.
Have fun on your last day and a safe trip home!
Love you!
Thanks Mave! I’m sitting here in our hotel room right now while M is still sleeping, trying to catch up on emails and posts and FB and everything. It was a great tour, and I’m glad to be on the FINAL final approach home. HA. See you soon! Love you!
Hurrah that things are going well and that everyone, including you, is having a great time. And the weather’s cooperating! Hope you will be able to sleep a little bit on the bus ride home.
Thanks, RD — I think I got like a 30-minute nap on the bus. Wow! It was beautiful weather, and I was proud of how everyone conducted themselves. Great chaperones.
Phantom is across the street from my ex-place of employment.
Ah, I wish I’d known that — woulda checked it out. You still in M-town?
I’m SOOO glad that it went well – safe travels! BTW, remind me to tell you my Phantom story when you’re here in Dallas!!
Will do, luv — we gotta nail down exact dates, now that most of my craziness is over for the year.
