30 Day Challenge 27

Day 27
What is the absolute worst household chore?

Geez…can I just say “all of them”? :-) Actually, I do very few household chores since the Thriller works from home. Most of them are done by the time I drag in from school or rehearsals, which makes me one of the luckiest people alive. But in the summer, I share the load, and since my summer break officially starts today…. Yeah, terrific, heh.

I’m going to say dusting is the worst. The clearing off, the wiping down, the putting back. Repeat five days later. Ugh.

Being a bachelor, I feel much the same on this one with a small modification, “I’m going to say dusting is the worst. The clearing off, the wiping down, the putting back. Repeat five WEEKS later. Ugh.”

I detest grocery shopping with a passion. Can’t get out of the store quick enough. First of all everything is bad for you. Secondly, you pay tons of money for all that stuff that’s bad for you. Then you have to go back in a week and buy more. People stand in the aisle with their grocery carts (full of expensive stuff that’s bad for you), and stare at the shelf – you can’t get by. The lighting is enough to give make me have a migrane once I get out….aaauuuggghhhh!!!!!!!

It’s such a chore to write out that check each week to Leticia, our housecleaner LOL :D

Seriously, though, both of us work some long tedious hours (plus I travel for work some). The LAST thing we want to do is spend 1/2 of our weekend cleaning house. So having someone come in each week to clean this place top to bottom is something we put at the top of our budget & priorities.

Having said that, I detest having to do laundry!! UGH…. But I shouldn’t complain, since that’s really the only other household chore that I really have to do (other than be “pool boy” every couple weeks). :D

Folding socks. We separate laundry by color, which means all of them end up in one load. No me gusta. -.-

Sweeping. Having a hairy dog around means you have to sweep the same spot over and over and over and over. And we can’t forget to sweep every piece of furniture, pillow, and blanket. Over and over. And over again. Today, tomorrow, and the next day. Does Rousseau shed? If not, we will trade you.

I hate anything that has to be repeated over and over and over again….so that would include – dusting, vacuuming (the shedding white and yellow cat adds to that chore) washing windows, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the bathroom mirror daily because the 3 men in my house are all sloppy, etc…etc…etc…get the idea!?!?
And Skylar I hear you about those socks….I have to deal with 3 men that all wear white socks and they are all the same size and I never can get them in the right drawer – I have threatened to just leave them in a big basket and they can just choose!!!!

I would probably have to say cleaning the bathtub and tiles around it. Killer on the back. Oh, and we have duvets and I absolutely HATE putting the inside part into the outside part.

But I am one of those freakish people that pretty much enjoy cleaning. Blast the stereo and go! Or no music and think thoughts. :)

I’m not a big fan of grocery shopping, especially in the winter! I’ve got the routine down, however, going to WalMart at 10 p.m. and hoping the line at the single open checkout will be short. All too often, there are people who feel the need to present a shovel-load of coupons, using a credit card that doesn’t work in the scanner, people using food cards which seems to confuse the check-out person or people trying to pay the bill in pesos. Each of these things WILL force me stand there in line making audible groaning noises!!
