All the news…

…that’s fit to print on a Tuesday. But first, an observation.

You may have seen the commercial for, I dunno, some arthritis medication that begins with the line, “A body at rest tends to stay at rest.”  Well I am here to tell you that the statement is true. After four days off from the routine of school and rehearsals, it’s been reeeeeally difficult getting back into the routine. I go until 8:30 tonight, and I’m dreading it. Not the rehearsing, mind; just the staying-at-school part. Actually, the staying awake  part. HA. Anyway, strange.

Onward to the news.

  • Another blow to the hamburger world. Seems like it’s becoming well-nigh impossible to trust any government or business. Everyone should just grind their own. Or give it up completely.
  • $56 million. Who is worth a 14 million dollar annual salary?  Nick Swisher, of course. And that’s not even an outrageous figure by MLB standards. Embarrassed for the country yet? Maybe not, but I’m hoping the Indians can see some sort of ROI from this guy. It’s the largest salary paid any player in the team’s history.
  • Well here’s some good news, at least.
  • And the most AWESOME news story of the day goes to Aunt Barbara. Haaaa that is fantastic.

Isn’t it terrible that when you want time to fly, it crawls, and when you want it to crawl…

I’m outta here. Find some reasons to enjoy another beautiful day, fiends. Thassanorder.

Do NOT go here VIII

Do you like movie-related lists? Want to read some over Monday morning coffee? Want to still be reading the lists over Monday noon lunch? Then go here.

Otherwise, resist the devil and he will flee from you. :-D

Interesting day ahead, what with my silly foot ‘n all. I’m in low, sensible shoes, however, so thumbs up on the not falling off of the heels. Off I go…

Sunday morning joke

A rat wearing a sling walks into a bar and announces, I’m lookin’ for the man who shot my paw.

:-|

I wish I could find the guy who pushed me out of my left shoe yesterday. The Thriller and I were walking up to order our lunch, when *bam*, my left foot rolled outward inside my 2.5-inch high wedge shoe, and down I went. Forward. On the floor, in front of all and sundry. I mean, I landed on my chest, with my face centimeters from the floor. It was the ultimate humiliation. (Well, actually, the ultimate humiliation would have been if I’d been wearing a dress. Thankfully, I was in jeans and a winter coat.)

Oh, the indignity.

Now, from neck to toes, I suffer. Be careful next time, nutter.

*creeeeak*

More RNFs at 4 a.m.

Why, why, why did I awaken at 4:00 with “Who’s the Thief?” running through my head? Probably because we ran it a hundred times last night. Singing in 7/8 is grand.

Oh well. No time like the present to make a packing list for convention tomorrow. I need three of everything. Three outfits, three pairs of shoes, three um…well, that’s all I need three of. What else do you pack? Device chargers, laptop, iPad, candy, a big bowl for it and the JECO pens to give away as booth goodies, signage. Then there’s the ridiculous lanyard I have to wear, school paperwork, and most importantly, my Joseph score to work on in the room.

Oh yeah — sub plans for two days. Oy, forgot about that.

Am I forgetting anything else? If not, it’s teach today, rehearse till 9 tonight, and hit the road tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing some people I haven’t connected with since last year. But first, get through today. Today is going to be busy.

Anyone else doing anything fun?

Ready, steady…go!

Right, well…

  1. Frowny McFrownermanThe 49ers didn’t win, which puts all things right with the world, and with all loser Browns fans (sarcasm). The only upside is that, hopefully, now that he has his final ring, Ray Lewis retires. Onward.
  2. It’s Monday, and I snoozed the alarm too many times. Now it’s a rush, and I don’t feel like hurrying.
  3. I saw all three of my grandsons yesterday (yay!), but didn’t get the choreography done for tomorrow night’s rehearsal (boo). Oh well. Something to take care of between the end of school today and my parent meeting tonight.
  4. I’m leaving Thursday morning for a convention in Columbus. I wish I were more excited about it. My students, however, will undoubtedly be over the moon. :-)
  5. But my fruity-spinachy-delicious smoothie sure tastes good this morning. Thank you, Ninja. (You all really need to get one of these.)

Happy day, fiends — go get ’em!
