RNF XI

Random Neuron Firings

  1. Sorry, friends. I just don’t see the beauty. Never did, even when she was younger. Does that make me bad?
  2. Fellow crusties: Remember the nighttime soap of the 80s, Dallas? Remember Victoria Principal, who played Pam Ewing? Well, she denies having plastic surgery. Riiiiiiiight. I mean, do the nip-tuck thing (Lord knows I will when the time comes), but give us some credit for getting out of bed in the morning.
  3. Think we’re coming close to nuclear war now ? Well there was this one time…

Man. Software’s crazy this morning. Better post this and get it over with before I lose everything. (That, and school’s about to start…)

Fink out.

Monday morning fallout

Well let’s see here, what’s cookin’ this morning?

  1. The Browns. Um. Well, on to #2.
  2. The Rays are going to the World Series. Anyone but the Red Sox, says I.
  3. Yesterday, I saw Helen, Lars, Jakey, Jakey’s Mom, and #1 Son — all in the same day. How great is that.
  4. Sorry fiends, but I have to say this again. There are some things a 50-year-old woman should not do.
  5. I am having tuna sandwiches for lunch today, and for dinner tonight, before rehearsal. Stop by; there’ll be plenty to go around.
  6. Eleven rehearsals left. There’s not enough DD coffee in this world…
  7. I can’t begin to tell you how cool it is to reconnect with Jan and BoomR. And we’re still crazy after all these years…
  8. I wish that *one thing* would be fixed so everything in my life would be truly great again.
  9. If I ran for president, would you vote for me? I’d run on the Really Cute Shoes ticket.
  10. Despite his ornery streak and penchant for slinky photos that make the Fink blush, TRO is a wonderful southern gentleman. (Sorry to smoke yer street cred there, friend. Heh heh.)
  11. RD is sunning his reptilian hide in Florida right now. Let’s hate him.
  12. I want Meg and Sam to get their colds over with this week, and not next.
  13. As Grand Vizier of Finkville, I declare today Be Nice to Those of the Opposite Political Persuasion, Even Though You Know You’re Right Day.

Are you listening to me, Kody? :-)

FO

La dolce vita

Oh yes. Not one, but two huge, 135-cup serving bags of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. BoomR, you are magnificent. Oh, and thank you for the boss software, too!!! I still can’t believe it. What an amazing gift.

And speaking of not believing it…last night at 7:57, I submitted the final assignment for my final class at BU. I’m done. It’s over. For a couple of hours last night, I just walked about in a daze. Do I turn on the TV? Do I get caught up with the school website work? Do I start the program for the musical? I text-messaged my gal pals BarJai and Stoney and told them I couldn’t believe it was over. I still can’t.

Now I start a whole new chapter, luvies. Studying for the April tests. That ought to just about drive me over the edge of the Cliff of Insanity.

But for today, we dance. And drink DD coffee over breakfast with Helen and Lars. Dulcissima.

Fink out.

Once again, I wonder

I ponder the existential questions this day. Or at least, the questions that trouble me.

  1. When will the FedEx guy be here?
  2. If I hate the song “Birdland” (which I do, and always will), does that make me a bad jazz musician?
  3. What will happen if I see someone holding a script onstage this afternoon?
  4. How many mean people can dance on the head of a pin?
  5. Will Monday ever get here? (Yes, friend. They’ve extended the due dates for class. The suckage continues.)
  6. Am I really considering buying one of these? (Yes, I am, actually, for music software reasons. No vitriol allowed on this, though! Computer brand loyalty is like Republican vs. Democrat, Ford vs. Chevy, chunky vs. smooth. “And no minds were changed.”)
  7. Why do I not like the latest MadMen plot twist? Where is Don going? And who did he call in the last scene?
  8. Will this show be ready to open with 19 days and 12 rehearsals left?

These things I wonder. But…now it’s time to hit the shower and go watch Jake while #1 Son and Jakey’s Mom get ready to go to a wedding. Color me excited!

Happy Saturday,

Finkly

Ever have one of these?

Well, I got me one today. Not sure why. When all else fails, try stream-of-consciousness:

  1. I hate them. (Mostly because I’m still mad about this.) I know, get over it. Shut up.
  2. I’m tired. And crabby, although I hide it so well, you’d never know it.
  3. This class will n.e.v.e.r. be over with. Tomorrow has been canceled; it will never get here.
  4. I hate everyone. Except you.
  5. It is 6:04 a.m. and I’m not showered and dressed. Yet, I care not.
  6. If I have bad rehearsals today, people could suffer.
  7. If I have a bad rehearsal tomorrow afternoon, people will suffer.
  8. I have to skip the football game tonight to come home and work on the Power Point presentation that’s due tomorrow — you know, the day what won’t ever get here — with narration, of course, since it’s the most ridiculous requirement ever, and wastes the most time, which is why it was assigned.
  9. I miss Kay. And she had better write back or I’m getting on a plane and…. Nevermind.
  10. **breathe**

I know there are many bright sides to my life today. I have a wonderful family, and friends who love me. I have cute blond hair and tiny little dainty feet. I get to say, “Shut up, Stein” anytime I want. BoomR is sending me a present, packed in Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. (I can’t wait; I hope it’s a pony.) So cheer me up. It’s Finkday, fuh cryin’ out loud. I should be happy. Blah.
